About me

I am a Black Male Afro-Caribbean Clinical Psychotherapist originally from Trinidad and Tobago. I have children of my own and understand the challenges of balancing a full-time career with family life in London. Having migrated to London 30 years ago, I also empathise with the various levels of loneliness and isolation one can face living in a big city.

I am a passionate and dedicated individual with diverse interests in relationships, sexuality, divorce, co-parenting, neurodiversity and the challenges of forming meaningful connections. Raised by a single parent, I understand the challenges of raising kids on your own.

I am also passionate about supporting people who have been discriminated against at work or feel stuck in a job they don't like. I offer a space to step back, make sense of what you are experiencing, and reconnect with your own thoughts, feelings, and sense of direction

For the past 14 years, alongside my work as a person-centred psychotherapist and Senior Lecturer, I have also been bringing people together through my passion for dance and Zumba.

I genuinely believe that well-being is about the whole person — our minds, bodies, relationships and sense of connection with others. Dance and movement have always been a big part of my life, and through Zumba I have seen firsthand how music, movement, and community can lift our mood, build confidence, and create a real sense of belonging.

Whether I am in the therapy room, the lecture room or leading a Zumba class, my passion is the same: connecting with people, creating a safe and welcoming space, and helping people feel good about who they are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Person-Centered Clinical Psychotherapist. Alongside my psychotherapy training, I work as a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing.

My journey into psychotherapy began through many years of working alongside people experiencing some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

My work in mental health nursing, community services and higher education has given me a deep appreciation of how complex our emotional lives can be.

Psychotherapy became a natural extension of this journey. My person-centred practice is grounded in the belief that people need to feel genuinely seen, heard and understood.

I don't see therapy as someone telling you how to live your life. I see it as creating a relationship where you can safely explore your experiences, understand yourself more deeply and consider what you want for your future.

Prior to my academic role, I gained 11 years of clinical experience working with clients presenting with complex needs, including substance use, mental health difficulties, and social challenges. This has provided me with strong skills in assessment, care planning, and therapeutic engagement with individuals facing multiple vulnerabilities.

I am also a qualified Specialist Practitioner in Community Mental Health and Public Health Nursing, equipping me with advanced skills in holistic care, health promotion, and risk management. My professional journey reflects a consistent commitment to person-centred care, supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes, and bridging theory with practice in both academic and therapeutic contexts.
