About me
Hello, I’m Phil, and I’m glad you’re here.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and I appreciate you taking the time to explore my profile.
As an experienced counselling therapist, I offer a fully remote, global counselling service tailored to support you at any stage of life’s journey. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, empathetic, and safe space where you feel heard and understood.
My core training is in the humanistic, person-centred approach, which focuses on working collaboratively and valuing your unique experiences. I also incorporate integrative techniques, drawing from CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused, and directive therapies. For those who prefer a more guided approach, I provide psychological coaching and education to help accelerate your personal growth.
I believe therapy should be as individual as you are. My role is to support you in navigating life’s twists and turns, helping you discover and understand your personal path. Therapy isn’t just a tool for tough times—it’s a resource that can enrich your journey at any stage. Together, we can build a personal toolkit of strategies you can draw on whenever needed.
To meet a variety of needs, I also offer Single Session Therapy (SST). This focused approach can sometimes be all it takes to find clarity and start moving forward. Alongside my private practice, I work with a company specializing in SST, where I regularly witness its transformative benefits.
For those seeking more traditional therapy, I offer both short-term structured sessions and longer-term ongoing work. I’m committed to finding the right fit for your needs and will happily discuss options with you, without any pressure to proceed further. Your emotional health and well-being are my top priorities.
I also have experience working with young people in private practice and school settings. While my remote practice is available to individuals aged 15 and older, I’d be happy to discuss how I might support you or your young person.
If you’d like to explore how we might work together, please feel free to reach out via email or phone. I’m here to help you take the next step with confidence.
About Me
My journey to becoming a therapist began in a different field—I initially trained as a secondary school teacher. However, due to a health condition, I had to step away from that career. With the support of therapy, I was able to navigate this challenging transition and discover a new path, which ultimately led me to retrain as a therapist.
I firmly believe that everyone can find their unique way forward with the right support. My own lived experiences with hidden disabilities, chronic conditions, and pain have deeply shaped my approach. I understand these struggles personally and professionally, and I have worked with many clients to help them find ways to live and thrive alongside these challenges, rather than constantly fighting against them.
In addition to my therapy work, I am experienced in pain management coaching. If you are dealing with chronic pain, I offer a safe and compassionate space to explore your experience and support you in developing strategies to manage and reduce its impact on your life.
I am an Accredited Member of The National Counselling Society (NCS) and adhere to their ethical framework, ensuring my practice is grounded in professionalism and care.
Who I Support
Therapy doesn’t have to be reserved for moments of crisis—it can be helpful at any stage of life. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply want a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, I invite you to share what’s on your mind.
I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, confidence challenges, stress (both personal and work-related), burnout, family and relationship concerns, loss, and bereavement. This list isn’t exhaustive, as I recognize that everyone’s experiences are unique. My approach is inclusive and tailored to your individual circumstances and context.
Wherever you are on your personal journey, I am here to meet you and work alongside you. If my approach feels like a good fit for your needs, I encourage you to take the next step and get in touch.
I work with individuals aged 15 and older in the UK, as well as adults across the globe. My experience includes supporting clients from the UK, Europe, The Americas, South Africa, and Asia.
Training, qualifications & experience
Training, Qualifications & Experience
In addition to my private practice, I work as a freelance therapist for two growing start-up companies, offering accessible single-session and short-term therapy. Since 2020, I have supported clients globally through these roles.
These positions have also allowed me to contribute to broader therapeutic initiatives, including training managers on how to support employee mental health and well-being in the workplace, as well as triaging clients to connect them with the appropriate therapeutic services offered by these companies.
Previously, I spent three years working in schools within my local area, supporting young people aged 11 and older. This experience has given me valuable insight into the unique challenges faced by young people and their families.
