About me
I am a counselling psychologist working with adults with all kinds of emotional difficulties and challenging life situations. I work with people who want to overcome depression, anxiety, guilt, low self-esteem, or anger, as well as people who find themselves in a rut, dissatisfied with the way their life is going, or unhappy and disconnected in their relationships.
My focus is on helping clients stop doing what doesn’t work, start treating themselves better, develop meaningful relationships, and empower themselves to make positive life changes.
I also work with clients to identify and understand patterns such as pursuing unavailable romantic partners, remaining in problematic relationships, or feeling repeatedly let down by others.
My approach is rooted in authenticity and a commitment to empowering clients to break free from these cycles, leading to more fulfilling and balanced relationships. My therapeutic style is informed by various psychological theories and methods, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theories, compassion focused therapy, and person-centered therapy.
I work with several insurance providers, including Aviva, BUPA, Vitality, Cigna and AXA.
To see if my approach might be a good fit for you, feel free to get in touch to book a free 15 minute intro call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed a PhD in Counselling Psychology in the United States in 2014 and I have worked as a therapist with adults and young people from various cultural and religious backgrounds with a wide range of presenting concerns. In the UK I have worked in NHS community mental health services, service for female survivors of abuse, a university counselling service, and in collaboration with physiotherapists and other wellbeing professionals. I have worked in private practice alongside these roles since 2016 and now offer remote sessions to clients across the UK.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
If you decide to start working with me I will invite you to take the lead on what you want to address in therapy and to prioritize the topics that feel most important to you. I will explore with you what may have shaped your way of being in the world and where the patterns in your current life may have come from. No less importantly, I will also encourage you to think about what you want to change and work with you to identify actual steps to take towards your goals. My aim is for you to leave therapy with a clearer idea of the direction you want to take in your life, more compassion towards yourself, a greater sense of agency and authenticity, and hopefully more effective ways of managing the challenges that life throws at you.
