About me

Well done for taking the scary first step towards seeking more support. I know finding the right therapist can be overwhelming.

Who am I?

Hi. I'm Bex (she/they). I am a BACP-accredited, integrative counsellor. I'm non-judgmental, kind, and honest.

I'm trauma-led. I recognise the impact of systemic oppression, work hard to stay anti-racist, and I believe survivors. I'm neuro-queer (with ADHD), too. I welcome any tricky, messy stuff; you do not need to have it figured out.

Who do I work with?

I often work with women, queer people, and neurodivergent people, but I also work with a variety of other people, too. I work with adults of all ages; my current clients range from 18 to 70 years old.

Maybe you want to work on your mental health, anxiety and/or low self-esteem. Maybe you want to address family or relationship issues, or understand the root cause of your depression or low mood. Maybe you want to reconnect with your authentic self, or work towards gently healing from the grip of past trauma. Or, perhaps you want to stop falling into unwanted patterns (e.g., people pleasing, avoiding your loved ones, or not fully showing up for yourself).

I’m guessing you’ve tried books, podcasts, and healing practices, but there’s still a quiet, lost feeling that remains. If you want to feel at home in yourself, you’re in the right place.

What are sessions like?

Therapy with me is gentle and down-to-earth. It's a sacred space to focus on you.

I weave in many threads alongside talking (e.g., inner child work, parts work, nervous system regulation, and creative tools like drawing, meditation, and the imagination). We will map out your goals and go from there. Radical honesty is encouraged and welcomed.

We might work to uncover what's blocking you from where you want to be. I'll support you in understanding yourself better, processing emotions, and practicing making brave changes in your life.

What will therapy give me?

The aim is that, through the process of therapy, you will be able to step more fully into your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My main training is in psychosynthesis counselling with the Psychosynthesis Trust. I also bring in learnings from psychodynamic, gestalt, internal family systems, and person-centered psychology. Additionally, I completed a continued professional development workshop in working with sexual trauma.

Where appropriate, I bring in Somatic Experiencing (SE). This is a trauma-led practice and involves working with your nervous system to come back to a place of safety. I have completed the first of three years in SE training with the SOSI.

I'm experienced at working with different mental health issues, and I previously worked in charities and the NHS. This means I am used to working with complexity and a mix of presenting issues.

I regularly undergo further training to strengthen my practice, too.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
