About me
Counselling is about giving the client a safe space and time to explore their feelings. I offer person centred therapy which allows personal growth, strengthening your sense of identity and thereby allowing you to connect better with others.
At some point in everyone’s life, there is a need to reach out for help and support. Just as you are a unique human being whatever problem you are facing will be individual to you and will therefore need exploring in an environment which is safe, where you are treated with respect, empathy and compassion and where every detail is confidential. In my counselling space, I can offer this, where the time you spend with me is your time and where we can work together with whatever you wish to bring into the room.
The therapeutic relationship is key to success and as an open minded and qualified counsellor people choose to visit me as I offer a non-judgemental environment in which you will be listened to and valued, working at a pace which is suitable just for you, as we move towards a solution.
Having worked in education for over 30 years I have vast experience of dealing with children and young people, but also the adults that I managed and the parents I supported. My person centred approach to counselling is fully supportive; working on respect, honesty and unconditional positive regard. I am fully aware of the difficulties faced by young people, particularly post-Covid. These can include areas such as self-esteem/confidence, anxiety, motivation, bullying, self-harm and school refusers whom I have had vast experience of working within a pastoral support role which extended to families as well.
