About me
Finding a therapist can be a daunting prospect at a time when things may already feel difficult and overwhelming. I offer an open and attentive space where we can gently delve into the experiences that you feel are affecting you.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety and depression. You may find yourself overwhelmed by a current situation happening in your personal or professional life. You may find yourself constantly putting others first and letting your own needs fall to one side or feel on some level that you are not enough and that it gets in the way of living a life that feels fulfilling. Or you may find yourself living in the shadow of past events that still trouble you now, in the present. These are all difficult experiences that deserve time and space to understand and process.
I hope that you may feel able to share some of the weight of what you are experiencing with me.
About Me
I'm an integrative therapist based in Queen's Park. I work in a relational way that champions your own self expression and voice. I believe that no issue is unimportant and that our experiences tell a story that we can begin to make sense of together and find meaning and healing in.
I work out of very comfortable rooms at the Minster Centre in Queen's Park, which is in walking distance of the Bakerloo line and the Overground (Mildmay Line).
If you would like to explore working together, please email or call me and we can set up a free introductory conversation. I currently have a number of concessionary slots which I am happy to offer based on your financial situation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Therapist with a Diploma awarded by The Minster Centre and have worked extensively at the Royal College of Music as part of their student services team, working with a range of issues including anxiety, past trauma, family issues, existential issues, neurodiversity and ADHD and much more. I have experience with long term client work through the Minster Centre's low cost therapy service.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
