Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA and a post graduate diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from Birmingham University and I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am a fully accredited EMDR Practitioner with EMDR Europe, UK and Ireland. I am also an approved Attachment Focused EMDR Practitioner with the Parnell Institute.
I am working towards my EMDR Consultants accreditation with EMDR UK at the moment.
I am a level 7 trained (MA Equivalent) Clinical Supervisor and a member of the British Association of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervisors (Organisational member of UKCP).
I provide individual sessions, couples sessions and specialist EMDR sessions for clients as well as Clinical Supervision for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I have very varied professional experience. Before retraining I worked as a community worker and social worker in Liverpool city centre which gave me solid grounding in many different areas.
I began my therapeutic career as a therapist for NHS long term adult psychology services and then as a therapist for the NHS sexual health and psychosexual service in Worcester. Following these grounding experiences I began to develop my private practice in Worcester.
Originally my private practice was made up of different strands including working as an associate of Worcester therapy Group for 5 years, as a member of the West Mercia Police Affiliate Network for 7 years, as a therapist for the NHS Sexual Health and Psychosexual Team for 7 years and as a therapist for BUPA as well as varying EAPS.
As the practice developed I moved to self referral and the practice now focuses on providing individual, couples and Specialist EMDR sessions to clients and Supervision to Psychotherapists and Counsellors.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
