About me
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I offer daytime and some evening appointments for individual face-to-face, online, or telephone counselling.
It is fair to say that most of us encounter challenging times when we may feel anxious, depressed, or stuck. Perhaps you have a specific concern, or you have experienced a recent change in circumstances or a prolonged period of stress.
Speaking with a trained counsellor, who is uninvolved in your situation and who will strive to understand your current difficulties from your perspective can help you find new ways to cope or make decisions regarding what matters to you.
I can offer you a safe and confidential space where we can explore your concerns together at your pace, without any pressure or judgement. This promotes awareness and insight, empowering you to initiate positive change.
I appreciate that seeking counselling may feel daunting, especially if it is for the first time, and I am genuinely committed to helping you feel at ease and listened to, from the very beginning.
Research informs that the strength of the therapeutic relationship is one of the best predictors of good outcomes, therefore developing a good, trusting, and respectful relationship with you is key to my approach.
What to expect in your first session
I like to keep our first session informal and create a relaxed space for us to get to know each other.
I will go through the practicalities of therapy including confidentiality, and I will be happy to answer any questions about how I work, or counselling in general.
I will ask what you would like counselling to help you with and what outcomes you hope to achieve. We can then both decide if a second session would be helpful and desirable.
It is important to feel comfortable with your counsellor, therefore if it feels right for you, we can book another appointment, but you are also welcome to take your time to consider your options.
Getting started
If you are interested in working together, please contact me to arrange a free, no-obligation telephone call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative counsellor which incorporates Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
Whilst I am fundamentally humanistic in modality, I am trained to draw on various counselling models to offer you the therapy that is most appropriate for you.
I have supported clients dealing with a range of issues including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, relationship issues, stress and burnout, domestic abuse, bereavement, low self-confidence and low self-esteem, and caring for loved ones experiencing physical illness.
I hold an enhanced DBS check and insurance and I attend regular monthly clinical supervision to maintain a high standard of good practice.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
