About me
Counselling is an opportunity to explore and learn how to manage and care for yourself in ways that suit you. Working as a team we can explore ideas, concerns and problems you are facing in ways that centre you and your needs.
Specialised cancer counselling
Cancer can be a terrifying experience that can feel very lonely and confusing. I specialise in providing therapeutic accompaniment for people who are navigating the challenges of cancer treatment, adjusting to life in recovery or living with advanced cancer.
I understand the unique emotional washing machine that accompanies diagnosis, treatment, recovery or advanced cancer diagnosis.
I offer Person Centred Counselling designed to put you at the centre of all we do. I will encourage you to be your own detective and explore the how and why behind your beliefs, thoughts and feelings; with this newfound knowledge you can decide what serves you and what doesn't.
We will work on building up and strengthening your new psychological muscles so you have the skills to communicate, set boundaries and care for yourself in ways that suit your unique experience.
About me
I am a very chatty counsellor; if you have seen stern-looking therapists nodding and not speaking on telly, that is not me! I am interested in you and will work hard to clarify and communicate with you so I can gain a greater understanding of what it is like to be you. I also can't fix or offer you advice but what I will do is suggest and encourage you to try things and consider different ways of communicating and caring for yourself. We can roll over problems and ideas together to consider them from all angles and I will sit in the rubbish and scary feelings with you so you aren't alone.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
