About me

Hi, I’m Beck — a counselling therapist offering online and telephone sessions for adults living with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. Or, a place where you can simply talk things through — whatever’s on your mind — in a space that’s calm, safe, and without pressure.

If you’re reading this, maybe you're carrying a silent weight every day — holding yourself together on the outside while inside it feels like you're falling apart.

Maybe your anxiety feels like your mind is stuck in overdrive — constantly spinning, replaying conversations, imagining worst-case scenarios, or feeling like something’s wrong even when you can’t explain why. It’s like having a dozen radio stations playing at once, and you can’t switch any of them off.

Or perhaps you’re living with depression — where everything feels heavy, like you're wading through thick fog just to get through the day. Simple tasks feel impossible. You wake up tired. You go to sleep tired. And somewhere along the way, joy and motivation just... disappeared.

You might feel like a failure — even though you’re trying so hard just to keep going. You may have lost confidence in yourself, questioning everything you say or do, feeling like you're “not enough” no matter what you achieve. Some days it can feel hopeless — like nothing will ever really change, and you’re too tired to even try.

Trauma might have left you feeling disconnected from who you are. Like you’re just surviving, not living. Triggers might come out of nowhere, hijacking your day, reliving past experiences within the here and now. You might avoid people, even those you care about, because it’s exhausting to keep pretending everything’s fine, saying “I’m okay”. Or maybe you’ve started pulling away because you worry you’re too much — or not enough — for others.

You might find yourself:

  • Struggling to trust yourself or your decisions
  • Feeling ashamed, like something's wrong with you
  • Saying "I'm fine" to avoid opening up - or being dismissed
  • Feeling invisible in rooms full of people or uncomfortable in those rooms
  • Wanting connection, but also wanting to hide, feeling disconnected.

I want you to know:

You are not broken. You are not failing. You are human — and you're doing your best in the middle of things no one else can see or understand.

🌱 A Little About Me

I’m a qualified, trauma-informed therapist who works with adults navigating some of life’s most difficult experiences. My approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and respect for your pace — offering a safe, supportive space to explore what you’re carrying.

I know what it’s like to face and feel the weight of life’s challenges  At times, I’ve sat with fear, overwhelm, and those quiet questions like “Will this ever feel easier?” or “What now?” — and I understand how lonely that can feel. My own experiences have shaped the way I hold space for others: with empathy, patience, and deep respect for the strength it takes just to show up. I'm not here to “fix” you — I’m here to walk alongside you, human to human.

I support clients through:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • PTSD & Complex Trauma (C-PTSD)
  • Childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault
  • Identity loss, low self-worth & internalised shame
  • Feeling stuck, emotionally numb, or constantly on edge

At the core of my work are some simple but powerful values:

I believe everyone deserves to feel respected, heard, listened to, and truly understood — without judgment. I also believe that, no matter what you’ve been through, it’s possible to reconnect with a life that feels meaningful, lighter, and more yours.

Sometimes that starts with just having a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re okay.

Therapy with me is a place where you can show up exactly as you are. You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need to be “strong.” Just bring yourself — and we’ll take it from there, together.

🤝 How I Work

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed — which means you are always at the heart of the process.

  • You set the pace. I’ll walk alongside you, offering gentle support and care, without rushing or pushing.
  • You're met with warmth, not judgement. This is a space where you can speak openly, take a breath and simply be yourself - even if you're not sure who that is right now.
  • We work together. This is your journey and I'm here to walk with you, exploring what's happening beneath the surface at a pace that feels safe for you.
  • You're treated with respect and compassion. Your thoughts, feelings and experiences matter to me - and they'll be held with care, not analysed or "fixed"
  • You don't need to come knowing what to say. It's okay to bring silence, tears, confusion, or questions - everything you bring is welcome. YOU are welcome.

I understand how hard it can be to reach out — especially when might be used to managing things on your own. But asking for help isn’t a weakness — it’s an act of huge strength and self-care. When you’re ready, I’m here to listen, I want to know, I want to understand.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
