About me

Hi I'm Barbara I hope I can help. I'm an experienced, qualified Counsellor working with Adults, Couples, Youths and Children. I appreciate how isolating it can be to be struggling with things and feeling there's nobody to talk to. I offer a safe and non judgemental environment, where you can talk and feel heard. The hardest part is taking those initial steps and finding a Counsellor who you feel you can trust. I hope to offer a place where it feels safe and you feel able to be yourself and allay some of those fears.

A bit about me.

  • anxiety and depression,
  • self esteem and confidence
  • loss and bereavement,
  • anger and anger management
  • relationship difficulties,
  • Infertility and miscarriage,
  • trauma,
  • addiction,
  • isolation,
  • rape, abuse and domestic violence.

Work with Youths and Children

With over 20 years valuable experience working with children, teens and youths in groups and individually. I am currently working with Place2Be, a children’s charity based in schools. I provide emotional and therapeutic support in primary and secondary schools and private practice, building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play. Helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including:

  • bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. Helping them to increase confidence and self esteem particularly when experiencing anxiety relating to issues such as relationships, loss and bullying.

MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority.
