About me

I know how hard it can be to reach out when you need help. A problem can become so large that it takes over most of your life. It can be something from the past or a current situation that you can't move beyond. Whether it is depression, anxiety, loss, abuse, trauma, bereavement, stress or a relationship breaking down, you feel stuck and overwhelmed. Maybe you simply know that something needs to change, but don’t know how to make that happen.

I can help.  I am an experienced, qualified, integrative counsellor and psychotherapist  which means that I am flexible and trained in a number of different approaches. I will work with you however you feel and with whatever you bring, together developing the knowledge and insight  that enables change. I don't expect you to fit the therapy; I expect the therapy to fit you and will develop an intervention based upon your specific needs and wishes.

I offer a confidential service in a discreet and comfortable location where you can be yourself, secure in the knowledge that you will be supported, challenged at times, understood, but not judged.

I work with adults, adolescents and couples.

I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. When I finished my Post Graduate/Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, I became an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Afterwards I completed a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London and later qualified as a clinical supervisor.

I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 17 years. During that time I have set up and managed a counselling service in a secondary school for staff, students and parents.  I have also worked with professionals in the City of London and for a bereavement charity. I supervise trainee counsellors at a leading counselling school as well as qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.  I founded Quartz Counselling psychotherapy and Training (QCPT), which is a private practice dedicated to high standards and innovative ways of working.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
