About me
Hi I’m Ashley, a registered mental health nurse and BABCP-accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. I have over 13 years’ experience working in mental health and I specialise in treating OCD and health anxiety.
Poor mental health can make your world smaller. You might find yourself avoiding, seeking reassurance, researching, checking, performing compulsions or spending hours caught up in intrusive thoughts and uncertainty. Over time, it can feel as though you are being ruled about where you go, what you do and how you live.
But you can learn to respond differently. You don't have to live by OCD's rules.
I provide warm, compassionate and evidence-based therapy to help you break free from the patterns that keep OCD and health anxiety going - so you can spend less time caught in the cycle and and back to living the life that matters to you.
You don’t have to wait for OCD to disappear before you start living. Therapy isn’t about getting rid of every unwanted thought or achieving complete certainty. It’s about learning that you don’t have to listen to OCD’s demands.
Together, we’ll work towards helping you:
● Understand the cycle that keeps OCD or health anxiety going
● Reduce compulsions, safety behaviours, reassurance seeking and avoidance
● Face uncertainty without needing to resolve it
● Respond differently to intrusive thoughts
● Reconnect with the things that matter to you
● Build confidence in making choices based on your values, rather than fear
● Create a life where you are in control
The goal isn’t to have a life without difficult thoughts. It’s to have a life that isn’t controlled by them.
Step beyond OCD’s rules. Step into life.
Why choose me as your therapist?
