About me

I am a fully qualified Counselling Psychologist offering a range of therapies from our comfortable therapy suites based in the heart of Chester-Le-Street. I aim to provide a safe and inviting space in which you can explore your current difficulties on your journey to improved happiness and wellbeing.

I truly believe that the key ingredient to any successful therapy is a good therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients.Therapy is therefore tailored to meet your individual needs and we work at a pace to suit you. I also offer first appointments at a 50% discounted rate to give us an opportuntiy to meet and for you to establish whether therapy is right for you at this time.

My work is based upon an integrative model which predominantly incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and person centred therapies. I have also carried out further training in order to broaden my services including DBT skills, mindfulness, relaxation, guided imagery, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, working with the Inner Child and CBT for depression.

My therapeutic experience has been built up from a number of different settings including NHS services, private organisations, and various local charities. I have been running my successful private practice full time since 2016. I commonly work with anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues and general stress. I also work with clients suffering from physical health issues, abuse, personality disorders, OCD, bereavement, and eating disorders to name a few (see full list below).

Please feel free to contact me of you have any queries regarding the services I offer or to make an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you.

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
