About me

Congratulations and welcome! Therapy can seem daunting but you deserve to be heard and you have already made the biggest step.

You deserve to believe in yourself, to put yourself first and to be happy. By choosing therapy you have chosen this. Together I want to help create with you an environment of safety, respect, and exploration so that we can figure out what you want and how we can get you there. Life is never as simple as we might want it to be, its normal to feel stuck, and important to ask for help. Let’s get you moving again.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor, foundationally using the Person-Centred approach to therapy, although I also use other styles when it feels appropriate for the person I am working with. Essentially Person-Centred just means that I believe in putting you first. I won't pretend to be the expert in your life. While I can help in facilitating a conversation and environment to help you process your thoughts and emotions, no one knows you better than you.

If you find yourself stuck there is a good chance you are holding all of the keys inside of you to get yourself out. But when you feel this way you know it never feels that easy. This is where therapy comes in, you don't have to navigate alone.

FIRST STEPS TO GET STARTED:

  • 1) Email me first, or 2) call me via phone. If I'm unable to get to the phone you can leave me a message and I will ring you back as soon as possible, or revert to step 1
  • We can then find a time to have a quick chat to talk about what you are looking for and any further questions you might have. If you decide to go ahead then I will email you our therapy contract.
  • I will then help to find a time slot that works for us both. We can go at whatever pace works for you and we can have as many or as little sessions as you feel you need.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 4 BA(Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma, Accredited

I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My background is in the Person-Centred Approach to therapy although I have adapted over time and branched out into other styles such as solution-focused and cognitive approaches to better meet the needs of my clients.

I have worked with charities who offer counselling to all types of clients and I am currently also working as a counsellor with About You UK, a charity based in St. Helens.

I have maintained Continuous Professional Development since qualifying.
