About me
We are all born with immense potential, individuality, and unique destiny. The fast-paced world we live in today, can make it difficult to pause and connect with our deep needs, which can make us feel unhappy, anxious, sad, stuck, detached or lost. I offer art therapy, consultations and workshops and my aim is to help individuals slow down and pause, to reconnect, enable healing, recover and empower themselves.
Whether you or a loved one are facing big life challenge, feeling overwhelmed, struggling with difficult feelings and thoughts, find relationships difficult or simply wanting to thrive more, art therapy is a powerful way to explore and understand what might be going on for you.
"Art permeates the very deepest parts of us, where no words exist"
Art therapy at its core, is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative processes to support emotional and psychological wellbeing. Unlike traditional talk therapy, art therapy offers a non-verbal way for people to communicate thoughts and feelings. It does not discourage talking; rather, it recognises that it can be difficult to articulate and express through words alone.
It can help people of all ages and backgrounds regardless of age, ability or skill. It can be applied for various struggles such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress and other mental health difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold experience in art therapy with both children and adults. Over the years I have specialised in working with psychological trauma in the voluntary sector in addictions, domestic violence social housing and schools. I also have experience in the statutory sector in the anxiety, depression, affective disorders, personality disorders and trauma (ADAPT, NHS), intensive management in psychosis (ICMP, NHS) in adult community mental health and children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS, NHS).
Working often with people from diverse backgrounds, I have developed a particular interest in the parts of ourselves that were deemed unacceptable, and we learned to burry in the depth of our personas, trans-generational transmission of trauma, attachment and loss.
I draw on psychodynamic, particularly Jungian theory as well as attachment theory. I am interested in neuroscience and fascinated by the brain’s plasticity, which allows to develop neurons in response to new experiences. I have a strong interest in the most developed part of the human brain that can think about thinking and mentalise. Unresolved difficult experiences can become trapped deep within the body and manifest as tension, restlessness, sleeplessness and even illness. I use somatic techniques to remedy that apparent disconnect between the mind and body during the healing process.
I continue to develop and draw on many resources to enhance my knowledge with an aim to enable you to resolve what might be going on for you. I am here for your healing, to support you feel safe, to release trauma and distress, and to develop bespoke resources for your healing.

Additional information
I offer an initial appointment to meet each other and find how we can work together. We would talk about the reason that has led you to seek therapy and in what way I am able to help you. This Includes some questions from me and joint exploration. Undertaking therapy is a consideratble commitment and it is important to be with someone that feels a good fit you. So, this sessions is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how I work.
Together we can decide if I and my therapeutic approach will be helpful.
We would agree on a time to meet weekly and discuss boundaries of the sessions (fee, breaks, the info I need from you, or you need from me, meeting online or in person, confidentiality). The sessions last for 50 minutes; and it can be during the day or evenings depending on availability at the time. We would also discuss how long you wish to come for, either open-ended or for a limited number of sessions.
