About me
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. Supporting people from all walks of life is not only my profession—it’s my passion. I deeply value the trust my clients place in me, allowing me to walk alongside them as they explore their most personal and, at times, unspoken stories.
Growing up in a large family, I experienced first hand the profound influence of women in my life. Their strength, wisdom, and compassion were a guiding force through my formative years, including my journey to embrace my identity as a gay man. At the same time, these experiences have helped me connect with men on an authentic level, creating a balance of empathy and understanding that I bring into every session.
Person-centred counselling operates on the belief that each individual holds the key to their own growth and healing. My role is to help you build self-awareness and confidence, empowering you to take control of your relationships and life’s direction. This process, while transformative, can sometimes bring up painful emotions. You don’t have to face those moments alone —I’m here to support you with care and compassion.
I have also undergone specialist training to support adults dealing with adoption-related experiences. Whether you are an adoptee or an adopter, I understand the unique, sensitive, and complex nature of these journeys. If the time feels right, I can provide a safe space to explore your story and its meaning.
Every individual has a story worth exploring, and my practice is a welcoming space for anyone ready to take that step. By getting to know yourself more deeply, you can navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, purpose, and confidence.

I qualified as a counsellor later in life having spent many years in the corporate world. Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a free initial telephone consultation which should last approx. 30 minutes.
Before the consultation, I will share a document outlining the service I offer along with some information about me.
During the consultation, I will go through a short questionnaire to find out more about you and what you are looking to address with your therapy. This will help me to understand if my skills will match your requirements.
If after this consultation we decide to proceed then I will email to you a document that outlines our working agreement. I will need you to print this out, sign and bring along to our first session. If you don’t have access to a printer I can send this out in the post.
Further information
I offer both short and long term therapy. Sessions are 50 mins in duration and will normally be at a fixed time each week but I can be flexible. How many sessions needed is unique to each person but I will undertake regular reviews with you to ensure our time together is meeting your needs.
I offer face to face sessions in Worthing and online video sessions are also available.
