About me

I am a trauma-informed therapist offering ONLINE therapy in a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings, make sense of your experiences and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, boundaries or patterns that seem difficult to change, therapy can offer an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and begin moving towards the changes you want to make.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. I combine person-centred, psychodynamic and somatic therapy, allowing us to explore your experiences, understand how the past may influence the present, and develop a greater connection between your mind and body.

Person-centred therapy places you at the heart of our work. I offer empathy, acceptance and understanding, recognising that you are the expert in your own experience. Psychodynamic therapy helps us explore how past experiences, relationships and patterns may influence how you feel, behave and relate to others today. Somatic therapy recognises the connection between the mind and body, exploring how difficult experiences can affect the nervous system and show up as anxiety, tension, feeling constantly on alert, or feeling numb and disconnected. Through gentle, body-aware practices, we can work towards developing a greater sense of safety and easing these responses.

A key part of my work is understanding the nervous system and expanding your window of tolerance - the range in which you can experience emotions and manage life's challenges without becoming overwhelmed or shutting down. Together, we explore ways to regulate your nervous system, recognise triggers and develop a personal toolkit of coping strategies to support you both in and outside our sessions.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults who have survived sexual abuse and rape, and I understand how deeply traumatic experiences can affect a person's sense of safety, identity and relationships. However, you do not need to have experienced trauma to benefit from therapy. My work is also about helping you understand why you are the way you are, recognise the patterns you have developed throughout life, and approach yourself with greater compassion rather than judgement.

Together, we can work towards building healthy boundaries, self-love, confidence and self-worth, helping you reconnect with your needs, trust yourself and develop healthier relationships.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, and you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, or to revisit painful experiences before you feel safe enough to do so. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for you, prioritising trust, safety and your sense of control throughout.

My aim is to support you in moving beyond simply getting by, towards feeling more connected to yourself, more confident in your choices and better able to live a life that feels like your own.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
