Hello and welcome,
I am a fully qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist, registered with UKCP and FPC.
I work face to face with individuals on a long term basis or, if you wish a specific focus, in a time limited frame of 12 sessions. I am bilingual and can offer sessions in English or French.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means the sessions focus on your unconscious and early relationships to gain insight into your current moods, behaviour and decisions. This process helps to attain a more reflective and objective perspective on your life and a better capacity to relate to yourself and others.
But regardless of the approach, I understand that, essentially, offering a safe, reliable and confidential space is important to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
My private practice is based in Wandsworth SW18 but I currently work remotely and offer sessions online or via telephone.
Training, qualifications & experience
Overall, I have experience working in an open ended and time limited (12 sessions) frame with a wide range of people and diverse problems including:
- low mood
- low self-esteem
- relationship problems
- life and work stress
- bereavement and loss
- issues relating to sexuality and identity
I qualified with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from WPF Therapy, a well-respected psychotherapy training institution founded in 1969. This qualification is validated by the University of Roehampton and accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I am a member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and abide by their codes of ethics, professional conduct and practice. I have full professional indemnity.
Making the first contact may feel like the hardest part of the process. I understand that one can feel nervous about stepping into the unknown. I am happy to speak to you on the phone or via email to start with and take it from there.
The initial consultation is an opportunity to explore your individual needs and answer any questions you may have. There is no obligation to continue after this session. All content of the session is strictly confidential.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
