About me

Based in North Berwick with easy transport links, I hope to offer you a warm welcome to my therapy room. There you will find a comfortable chair and a view of the beach. Sessions are one hour in length.

Everyone has differing needs at this time and if Face to face sessions do not suit you I also offer video and telephone sessions.

As a person-centred therapist I offer a non judgemental, confidential and safe environment where you can feel accepted. One of the first steps in achieving growth is to be able to be honest and open with yourself. My role in helping with that is to be warm, honest, compassionate, and facilitative.

Each individual approaches therapy in a different way and takes a different time. I will meet you with understanding and give you space and time to explore your options and support your change.

I offer a free initial session to discuss the reason you are coming to therapy and what you hope to achieve. It is a chance to work out if we will be comfortable working together and check that you can be offered the most appropriate support.

It is also an opportunity to discuss how we will work together and I will provide some written information.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy ( BACP).

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many years’ experience of working therapeutically with people in community health settings including work with families, adults, people with learning disabilities and teenagers.

I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist providing therapy to individuals 16 years plus experiencing a broad range of difficulties including: anxiety & low mood, mild to moderate depression, perinatal mental health, loss, bereavement, disability, sexuality, work-related issues, stress, relationship difficulties and personal growth.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
