About me
Do you notice yourself feeling angry all the time? Having trouble sleeping with worry over family, work or finances? Lacking energy or enthusiasm? Feeling lonely and unable to cope with life? Wanting change but unsure of how to achieve it? Therapy can help you to manage your worries, set healthy boundaries, to develop ways of coping and feel in control of your life.
The idea of having counselling might seem like a desperate choice, as if you're failing by asking for help. You may feel like you don't deserve to be helped. You don't have to cope on your own. Therapy can help you to overcome mental obstacles that are holding you back.
People seek counselling for many reasons; relationship issues, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, as if life feels too much and wanting change without knowing where to start.
I can help you by offering a space for you to talk through your issues and challenges without fear of judgment - giving you the confidence to express yourself freely, to develop and implement better ways of coping and to help you understand your feelings. By recognising stressors and triggers you can develop effective coping strategies and take back control of your life and experiences. To help you set healthy boundaries, which can enhance your relationships and prioritise your needs.
With a background in health and social care and the NHS, I have seen the challenges people face daily, including feeling helpless and hopeless due to ill health, mental and physical exhaustion from caring for a loved one, and watching a loved one succumb to illness. I also understand workplace pressures from working in a high pressure environment.
I believe every person has the right to feel heard and understood, which is why I trained as a Person-Centred Therapist.
Clients have told me that therapy has helped them to feel lighter, emotionally contained and understood by another person. They have also felt more in control and developed greater trust towards themselves and towards others, improving their relationships. Consequently, they felt calmer and more able to express themselves with others.
If you feel ready to start your journey, I am ready to listen.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
