About me

Hello, my name is Anna. Thank you for visiting my profile.

I know that finding the right therapist is not always easy. Reaching out for support can feel unfamiliar, vulnerable, or even overwhelming at times. I understand this not only as a therapist, but also from personal experience.

My approach is grounded in Gestalt therapy and trauma-informed practice, with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where helpful. I work in a calm, attentive, and relational way, paying attention not only to thoughts and patterns, but also to emotions, bodily sensations, and present-moment experience.

I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with each client, drawing on different therapeutic tools and perspectives depending on their needs. My work is client-led, and I believe that even when we feel lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves, there is often a part of us that knows what is important and meaningful.

Therapy with me offers a space to pause, reflect, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. I work at a pace that respects each person's process. I do not believe that healing can be rushed. In a world that often encourages us to keep moving forward, therapy can offer an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and listen to what may be asking for attention.

I often work with people experiencing grief, anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or significant life transitions. Together, we may explore the patterns, experiences, and ways of coping that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others.

Having lived in different countries myself, I understand some of the challenges that can come with adapting to change, navigating different cultures, and rebuilding a sense of home, identity, and belonging.

Finding the right therapist can feel daunting, and choosing who to contact is not always easy. If something in my profile resonates with you, I warmly encourage you to take that first step and get in touch. We can arrange an initial session and explore whether working together feels right for you.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Southampton, as well as online and telephone sessions for clients across the UK.

Therapy is available in English and Polish.

Training, qualifications & experience

My counselling journey began in 2018 and has been shaped by training in three therapeutic approaches: Person-Centred Counselling, Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a Diploma of Higher Education in Gestalt Counselling (Levels 4 and 5), and a Level 3 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. This combination of training allows me to work both relationally and cognitively, integrating different approaches to meet the needs of each individual client.

Alongside private practice, I have experience working within specialist trauma and bereavement services. I have supported adults who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, grief, loss, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties.

My placement and volunteer work included providing counselling within bereavement services, where I also co-facilitated support groups for people experiencing loss. I have over two years of experience working in trauma-informed services supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.

In addition, I co-facilitated an Emotional Coping Skills programme, drawing on CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to help participants develop emotional awareness, resilience, and practical coping strategies.

I value psychoeducation as part of the therapeutic process and believe that knowledge can be empowering. Understanding our emotions, patterns, and responses can support greater self-awareness and help us make more conscious choices in our lives.
