About me

Diploma in Counselling Skills, MBACP, BA(Hons)

I cover areas in Leeds and Shipley

Hello, I’m Anna – a Person-Centred Counsellor. Thank you for visiting my profile – I’m truly glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when life becomes overwhelming or confusing. You might be carrying things that feel too heavy to share with friends or family, or perhaps you’re simply longing for a space where you can breathe, reflect and be truly heard. That’s what I offer, as I’m deeply committed to understanding your unique story and supporting you as you find your way forward at your own pace in a non-judgmental environment. I will walk alongside you with warmth, compassion and genuine care as you explore what feels important.

My background includes counselling roles with Trust Therapies and Marie Curie, alongside work with a mental health charity. I have experience supporting individuals and relationships (two people in a relationship or two family members/friends)through a wide range of challenges including support for grief, loss and bereavement, including both pre and post-bereavement experiences during an illness or following the illness, death and loss of a human loved one or a companion animal; stress; anxiety; loneliness; feelings of abandonment; conflict and communication difficulties. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to face it alone.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with their ethical framework so you can feel confident that our work together is held with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Client feedback: 'I had previously been very against going to therapy to talk to someone about my problems but after certain events in my life happened people around me pushed me to at least give it a go, it’s changed my life given me new ways to think about things and better ways to cope, to try move forward with my life. It was only possible thanks to Anna she has taught me that it’s okay to talk about your feelings however big or small you feel they are, anything that bothers you or prevents you from being your best self is something worth mentioning. She created a space where I felt seen, heard and genuinely listened to. She’s attentive, understanding and supportive. There was never any pressure in sessions to speak we could have sat in silence if that was what was needed. We could talk about anything to begin with and we could slowly ease into what was bothering me sometimes it was a hard session but ultimately I felt better for it. There isn’t anyone I can imagine sharing with and helping me work through things other than Anna she’s a safe person who loves what she does and genuinely cares.'

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you feel ready to take that first step, please give me a call for an initial chat. There’s no pressure or commitment, just a friendly conversation to see how I can support you on your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Perhaps you’re wondering how counselling could help you?

There are times when we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why we’re struggling and it’s not always easy to talk to those around us. You might be facing anxiety, low mood, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, or grief and loss.

In our sessions, we’ll create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Together, we can work to break unhelpful patterns, strengthen your self-esteem, develop practical coping strategies, and build greater emotional resilience at a pace that feels right for you.
