About me
Dr Anna Richards is an HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered Counselling Psychologist and member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and member of the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Association UK.
Anna can offer psychological assessment, formulation and therapy for many common mental health difficulties including depression and low mood, anxiety difficulties, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and personality disorder/difficulties. Anna also works with teams and groups and can offer reflective practice.
Anna’s has a professional doctorate in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology with core training in person centred therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She has additional post-doctoral training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and EMDR Therapy.
Anna has worked in the NHS with people with complex mental health difficulties, including complex trauma/PTSD. She was the pathway lead for a personality disorder service. She currently works in the NHS as a Principal Counselling Psychologist in the area of staff support in the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic.

- Masters of Research in Psychological Methods (MRes), University of Sussex.
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (B.A.), University of Sussex.
