About me

Life isn’t easy and sometimes it can feel overwhelming. You may feel stuck in a rut, or that patterns are repeating and you're struggling to cope. Maybe you're in crisis for the first time. Seeking help to explore your difficulties is a courageous step, but can be very daunting.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental and honest confidential space, in which to explore the challenges you are facing.  I am an integrative counsellor, meaning that I combine different theoretical approaches to suit your needs and pace.

I offer a 15 minute telephone session (no charge) in order to understand what has brought you to counselling and why now?  We can talk about my availability and you may have questions about how I work.

If we decide it is right to meet, I will offer you an appointment for an assessment session which will last for 50 minutes, charged at the agreed rate.  It's an opportunity for me to find out more about you and for us to see if we can work together and for you to understand more about the therapeutic relationship and process.

I have two consulting rooms, one in Camden Town NW1 in a well established women's centre and one in Hackney E8 in the grounds of St. Joseph's Hospice. Both are well located for public transport links.

I offer 50 minute in person sessions in my consulting rooms (£70) and also work online (£65).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor, regularly working with clients who are suffering from depression and anxiety in an NHS setting.

The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client can shed light on other relationships in your life and provide an opportunity for repair, nurture and healing.

Having worked in complementary health for many years, I have an interest in how emotional stress and trauma may be held in the body, sometimes manifesting as chronic pain and disease.

I comply with GDPR legislation and any data you provide is stored securely.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
