About me
If anxiety, stress, loss, bereavement, or trauma are affecting your personal life or relationships, you may benefit from gaining deeper insight into their impacts and taking steps to achieve your goals. As a qualified integrative counsellor, I provide compassionate and confidential support. I recognise the difficulty in seeking support for matters that are highly personal. I offer a comfortably environment in which you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions.
I also run Qualified Ofqual Level 1, 2 and 3 First Aid for Mental Health courses. This can be for individuals, community groups or in the workplace.
Anxiety and Stress 4 hour workshops learning how to manage stress and anxiety
Are you struggling with anxiety, stress, loss, bereavement or trauma and finding it difficult to manage daily life or relationships? You do not have to face these challenges alone. By seeking professional support, you can gain valuable insight into how these experiences affect you and take meaningful steps towards a brighter, more balanced future. As a qualified integrative counsellor, I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and supported. I understand that reaching out for help with deeply personal matters can be daunting, which is why I am committed to ensuring you feel safe and comfortable as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Together, we can work towards the positive changes you wish to see in your life.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring that I adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice and professional conduct. My private practice is based in Skinburness, where I offer confidential and compassionate counselling services to clients seeking support for a range of personal challenges. In addition to my private practice, I support charitable organisations, universities, and employee assistance programmes, providing tailored counselling and mental health support to diverse individuals and groups within these settings.
Counselling Services
Individuals
I provide one-to-one counselling for individuals, offering support and guidance tailored to your specific needs. My experience includes working with clients who face challenges such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, trauma, domestic abuse, loss, bereavement, disability, and illness. Through a confidential and compassionate approach, I strive to help you navigate these difficulties, supporting you as you seek clarity and positive change.
Couples
If you and your partner are struggling within your relationship whether you feel disconnected, have communication difficulties, or need support through challenging times, I offer couples counselling to help you reconnect and explore your issues together. My aim is to provide a supportive space where you can work through your concerns and strengthen your relationship.
Walking Talking Therapy (Green Therapy)
Recognising that traditional therapy does not suit everyone, I have pursued alternative therapies that align with my passion for the outdoors. Many individuals do not feel comfortable in a conventional counselling room, so I offer an alternative approach: walking talking therapy, also known as Green Therapy. This form of therapy takes place outdoors, harnessing the healing, calming, motivating, and uplifting qualities of nature. Gentle exercise in a natural environment with fresh air, plants, and open spaces can be beneficial both physically and emotionally. It also offers the added advantage of improving fitness. I organise planned walks in and around Silloth and the surrounding areas, with sessions ranging from one to three hours, all conducted in natural daylight.
Animal Assisted Interventions
Animals offer non-judgemental companionship, living in the present moment and accepting you just as you are. My animal assisted interventions involve working with my dog, which may include activities such as stroking, brushing, playing, or walking together. This gentle interaction provides comfort and support, creating an environment where healing and openness are encouraged.
This type of therapy can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of social isolation, while enhancing mood and self-worth. Through the presence of animals, you may find yourself feeling more at ease, gaining confidence, and developing a renewed sense of purpose.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
