BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

TESTIMONIAL

I started seeing Marie to help me deal with the difficulties from my past experiences which prevented me doing so many things in my life.

Marie has enabled me to deal with my painful memories of my past and enabled me to move on and see a brighter future for myself.  She has taught me how to think differently and that despite me thinking I was not a likeable person, have realised quite the opposite.

Her inspiration, help and guidance has enabled me to do something that I had only ever dreamed of but never imagined possible.  I have written a candid book, which has enabled me to exorcise the demons of my past.  I am extremely hopeful that will one day be published and I can perhaps help others who have had similar experiences as myself.

She has helped me to forgive myself and let go of all of the pain from the past, making me realise that none of it was my fault.

I felt totally comfortable sharing information with her that I had never told anyone else.

Marie, thank you so much, I already miss our sessions

Testimonial

Marie was recommended to me and speaking to her in a safe and comforting environment with a friendly smile makes a huge difference. I was instantly put at ease with Marie and whilst she is not able to bring back my mum and dad, I believe I have found someone who truly listens and understands how I feel. She has helped me realise that I need an opportunity to grieve and that this process will take as long as is necessary. During recent months she has also offered me tremendous support in other areas within my life which were also impacting on my grief. Her techniques are relaxed and friendly giving you the opportunity to open up and talk freely about how you are feeling, without being judgemental in any way. Marie has also provided a number of hypnotherapy sessions to help me deal with my issue of not sleeping properly and has kindly recorded them for me to use between our meetings. Counselling sessions with Marie are truly a life-changing experience. If you are reading this and considering going to see Marie for whatever reason I urge you to get in contact with her and change your life for the better. It's hard making that first step into admitting you need help but I can assure you, you won't regret it, I certainly haven't.
