Are you concerned about your behaviour or the way you react to some situations? Does it feel like no-one understands what you are going through? Or would you simply like to do some personal development, so that you can thrive in your relationships and seek a happier more balanced life. I am a Psychotherapuetic Counsellor offering counselling and psychotherapy with a non - judgemental, empathetic, respectful approach. My primary mode of therapy is Transactional Analysis with a relational approach.
Who do I offer counselling to?
I work with Adults, couples and groups.
Where and how can we meet together for therapy?
- I offer a peaceful, private space to work face to face in Crowborough
- I also work online using a safe, secure , video platform.
- Although it is not my normal practice to visit people at home, where there is an exceptional circumstance, I will visit care homes and individual homes if health or disability are an obstacle.
What types of mental health challenges can you bring to therapy?
I have experience with a range of mental health challenges, with or without a diagnosis. No challenge you face is too small. I have a particular interest and experience working with, people experiencing anxiety, trauma , PTSD, and neurodiversity related mental health challenges. Also those seeking general self improvement and relational challenges.
Who am I?
My previous experiences as a Veterinary Nurse and Lecturer/personal tutor led me to become interested in mental health and I decided to train in counselling and psychotherapy (Transactional Analysis), leading to a career change. For several years now, I have had the pleasure of working in private practice as well as in secondary schools, offering individual and group therapy for adolescents and adults. Dyslexia has been a challenge in my life as well as a blessing to me. It is a privilege and pleasure to support people struggling with their own difficulties, stresses and anxieties, as they work towards healthy coping strategies and a sense of well being.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained for four years in Transactional Analysis (Psychotherapy); one foundation year and three clinical years. I work under the ethical framework laid out by The European Association of Transactional Analysist’s (EATA) and the UK Association of Transaction Analysis (UKATA) where I am listed as a practitioner. I continually update my knowledge and experience using supervision and CPD as required by UKATA.
I have worked with a range of difficulties for example: depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, self harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma, relationship challenges, illness and anger.
