About me

I offer a safe, steady space where you can explore what you’re carrying, at a pace that feels right for you. My counselling room is open to everyone, inclusive, compassionate and grounded in understanding. With long experience supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, and burnout. I work in a way that is human, gentle and non‑judgemental.

As a multilingual counsellor, I understand how culture, identity and language shape our emotional world. I bring a deep awareness of disability barriers, cultural pressures and life challenges, and I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard and understood. My approach is pluralistic and collaborative, shaped around your needs, your strengths and what feels most helpful for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered counsellor with over two decades of experience in trauma‑informed support, crisis intervention, disability advocacy and human rights work. My background includes supporting minority ethnic communities, LGBTQ+ clients, women’s services, and individuals facing complex emotional and practical challenges.

I have worked in counselling roles with SMILE Counselling and RISE, supporting adults and young people. I am trained in pluralistic counselling, allowing me to draw from different approaches depending on each client’s needs. My experience as a disability specialist and human rights practitioner gives me insight into the barriers people face and how these impact mental health and wellbeing.

I offer counselling in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, with a strong understanding of cultural dynamics, identity, and the unique challenges faced by multilingual and LGBTQ+ clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
