About me

My name is Angela Stanton and I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP) which is the lead organisation for CBT. I have worked within the mental health field for more than 13 years; working in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors across Inverclyde and Glasgow. During this time I have gained a broad range of experience working with clients who have wanted to work through their own or others mental health, substance use, mood disorders, eating issues and issues related to life adjustment and relational issues.

When I qualified as a CBT psychotherapist, I wanted to provide the best service to my clients, to do this I furthered my training and I am now a fully Accredited member of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. (www.babcp.com). To be a member I adhere to their code of ethics and meet their standards of Continued Professional Development (CPD).

I receive monthly clinical supervision from another experienced accredited CBT Psychotherapist who ensures that my practice remains at a high standard which I thoroughly enjoy and get so much from.

Further information

What to expect from therapy

I have worked and volunteered as a therapist within a number of different organisations such as Mind Mosaic (Greenock), Centre of therapy (Glasgow), IESO Digital Health online CBT service (NHS) and substance misuse service (Greenock).

If you decide that now is the time to reach out and come for therapy I will work with you in a collaborative way to allow you the time to talk and tell your story. I will be there to provide you the safest, comfortable and effective space for you to talk and open up about what is troubling you. The first appointment we will explore together why you have come for therapy and what you would like to achieve while attending. You will never be on your journey alone.
