About me

About Me – Angela Stanton

My name is Angela Stanton, and I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) — the leading organisation for CBT in the UK.

I have over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field across statutory, voluntary, and private sectors in Inverclyde and Glasgow. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including mental health difficulties, substance use, mood disorders, eating issues, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

After qualifying as a CBT psychotherapist, I was committed to offering the highest standard of care, which led me to pursue full accreditation with the BABCP. As part of this, I adhere to their professional code of ethics and regularly engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and enhance my practice.

I also receive monthly clinical supervision from an experienced, accredited CBT psychotherapist. This ensures my work remains effective, ethical, and reflective — something I value deeply and find incredibly enriching.

What to Expect from Therapy

I have worked and volunteered as a therapist in a variety of settings, including Mind Mosaic (Greenock), the Centre of Therapy (Glasgow), IESO Digital Health (NHS online CBT service), and a substance misuse service in Greenock.

If you feel ready to reach out, I will work with you in a collaborative and supportive way, offering a safe, comfortable, and confidential space to talk openly about what’s troubling you. You’ll have the time and freedom to tell your story, and I’ll be alongside you every step of the way.

In our first session, we’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. You won’t be on this journey alone — I’ll be here to guide and support you throughout.
