About me

Welcome to my profile!

I am an integrative therapist, offering coaching, counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients in Oxfordshire. I work with individual clients and couples, and welcome clients from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

I aim to provide a professional and comfortable environment where you will feel welcome, where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings in confidence, achieve deeper insight into yourself, your problems and your life, and where you can identify and work towards making positive changes that will enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.

As an integrative therapist I use a combination of different types of therapy, tailored to suit the unique needs and preferences of each individual client. Rather than focusing solely on mental or emotional health I adopt a holistic approach, recognizing that the psychological, physical, spiritual, social and environmental aspects of life are interconnected, and that problems in one area of life can affect all the others.

I offer a 30-minute initial consultation - with no obligation and completely free of charge - which gives us the opportunity to meet each other and decide if we can work together. I won’t ask you to book any appointments at the initial consultation. Instead I will aim to provide you with all the information you need to take away and think about before coming to a decision. If you decide you would like to work with me, you can then contact me by telephone or e-mail to book your first session.

Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail to discuss your requirements or if you have any questions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed an MSc degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Relate's Certificate in Relational Counselling. I am a Registered and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and a member of the International Coach Federation. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor.

In addition to my private practice, I work as the Counselling Service Manager for TalkingSpace Plus, the NHS’ IAPT (Increased Access to Psychological Therapies) service in Oxfordshire. I have previously worked with organizations in the public and voluntary sectors, including the NHS, Mind, Relate and the Dove Service. I have helped clients facing a wide range of issues, both personal and work-related.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in management roles for over 25 years, gaining extensive experience in business management, finance, team leadership, coaching, mentoring, and designing and delivering training programmes. I have lived and worked in the UK, Asia and Australia, and am comfortable working with people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
