About me
I became a psychotherapist later in life and over the last 25 years I have worked for the NHS, Residential Services, Community Services and the charity sector. I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and COSRT Senior accredited, Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist now in private practice.
I work with both individuals and couples. I am qualified and experienced to undertake couples/relationship work of a complex nature.
I offer a free assessment session with no obligation.
My approach.
About 15 years into my practice, I realised something important. That most of our mental health struggles are about our relationships in life. This realisation was greatly enhanced when I trained in EMDR* about 10 years ago. I discovered that there can be heavy costs as we grow up seeking ways to survive familial and social expectations.
If we work together, my first step, is to simply to listen. To hear your current problems and difficulties. Then to agree together what your goals are from therapy.
From there we collaborate to understand how you became who you are today. To explore who and what were your most influential attachments – the people, places, events and beliefs that sculpted your world. We’ll be curious about the strategies you used to get your needs met and how you adapted to fit in, to belong and to feel safe.
I realise therapy is a big investment in time money, but I believe that we all have the potential to reinvent ourselves and be released from past hurts, from self-critical thinking and from the fear of judgment from others

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
