About me

I am an integrative counsellor, offering open-ended or time-limited sessions for adults either online or face-to-face in South East London.

In person sessions are available on Fridays. Online and phone sessions are available throughout the week.

Sessions are usually held weekly at the same time and last for 50 minutes

I provide an empathetic, safe space to explore issues that may affect your whole life experience. I believe that the client-therapist relationship is the key to effective counselling. Finding acceptance of yourself may feel difficult but I know that with help and encouragement, this can be possible. Past experiences may affect how you deal with problems in the present and I can help you in finding a way to move forward.

I have an integrative, person-centred approach that uses varied models of humanistic therapy letting you lead the process. I provide a place for the exploration of difficult emotions and will support you in understanding that you have the tools that will ultimately help you continue on your journey.

People may attend counselling for a variety of reasons. Counselling can provide a safe, non-judgemental and private space to talk about the issues you might be facing and fully explore your feelings.

I am an integrative counsellor which means I use a range of different approaches to inform my practice. I aim to provide a supportive environment to empower you to move forwards in a positive direction.

My background is in the arts-heritage sector, having started out as a carpenter-joiner. I live in a neuro-divergent household and have dyslexia myself, so I understand the struggles people may encounter in the education system and more broadly.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Integrative Counsellor and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have previous experience in NHS settings, having completed the Foundation Psychotherapy year at the Minster Centre and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre. I continue to develop my practice through regular supervision and professional training.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Please feel free to contact me by phone, text or email. I will try to answer any questions you may have and invite you to an introductory session.

In this session you will have the opportunity to explain what you would like to achieve from the counselling.

I will also ask you for some practical information about yourself and tell you a little about the way that I work. The session is about finding out if you would like to work with me and if I am the best person to work with you. Any information you give will be held in the strictest confidence.
