About me

I am a  qualified counsellor with over eighteen years experience, I am an Accredited & Registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).  I have extensive experience of counselling people who face a range of many different personal issues including anxiety, stress, depression (for which I hold a qualification in Counselling for Depression), anger, bereavement, relationship and sexual issues.

At Burscough Counselling Service (BCS) I work with clients who are aged sixteen and over, as an associate Counsellor and Supervisor.  I work alongside other male and female professionally qualified Person Centred Therapists and Supervisors.

I have ongoing experience working within the NHS and Employment Assistance Programmes.  My counselling practice includes working with individuals and couples.

Couples counselling is an important branch of my practice.  Together, we can explore any  difficulties that are happening within your relationship.  I believe that I can help you to discover any changes that would be beneficial in order for your relationship to flourish.

Flexible daytime and evening appointments are available in a warm, confidential and safe environment.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
