About me
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this profile, I believe that the relationship between an individual and their counsellor is of paramount importance and i'm hoping that this information provides you with a brief understanding of who i am and how i work, and maybe help with what can be a very hard decision about starting counselling and whom to choose to start this journey with.
Being a skilled, experienced counsellor, that has been qualified and has worked with individuals and groups for over 9 years, has provided me with the opportunity to gain extensive experience of supporting clients with a variety of issues and problems including, but not exclusive to; depression, self harm, anxiety, identity, bereavement, anger, trauma and so much more.
Counselling is an opportunity to work through what is happening in your life in a safe, therapeutic space, where you are welcomed and supported. I am a friendly, approachable individual that provides a warm, empathic experience. I am able to work within a short term or long term basis, i have skills within a number of therapies, therefore i would tailor the counselling provision to suit your needs, whether it is to gain strategies and techniques to manage something within your life or a more wider look at an element of your life that is impacting you, we can work together at identifying what form of therapy is right for you.
I am a trauma informed counsellor, which means that I am aware of the complexities of trauma, and the wide range of impact upon an individual. Supporting individuals with levels of trauma have provided me with the ability to be with an individual whilst experiencing levels of psychological distress and support them with developing strategies and techniques to manage daily living needs.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and i fully adhere to their ethical framework for good practice.
Feel free to give me a call to talk further and raise any questions you may have.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
