About me

We all face life’s adversities, paradoxes and challenges and the ways in which we deal with those can be invaluably informative. Therapy can help us become a creative source of possibilities, conscious and active in the shaping of our life-stories.

Working with you I will endeavour to create a safe space so that past and present, feelings, emotions and thoughts can be explored empathically in a meaningful way. I respect your autonomy and I value authenticity, compassion and creativity.

I have substantial clinical experience having worked in Psychiatric and Third Sector organisations, as well as in Higher Education and in Corporations. Through my Private Practice in Central and West London I work with adults on short and open-ended contracts.

The initial consultation with me in a non-judgemental friendly environment is an opportunity to talk about your difficulties and expectations, and to explore what would be an appropriate way to work. Fees, frequency of sessions and suitable interventions are also addressed in our first meeting. If I assess that my way of working may not be appropriate for you, I will endeavour to refer you to a colleague. I am a recognised Professional by most Health/Insurance Providers in the UK and abroad. These include (but are not limited to) : BUPA, AXA PPP Healthcare, AVIVA, VITALITY, WPA, AETNA GLOBAL, CISI, CIGNA, HEALIX.

Online therapy: I specialize in online and remote treatment offering continuity of care for people on the go, those in remote locations, clients internationally and those who work from home.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Counselling Psychologist chartered with the BPS (British Psychological Society) and an experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist with 20 years of clinical experience in the U.K. and abroad. In parallel with my private practice, I am a Tutor/Lecturer in various academic courses and I work in the NHS where I supervise the work of other colleagues. In addition, I am an active researcher involved in the wider applications of psychology and psychotherapy in society and I am regularly contracted by organisations to consult on behaviour and change management.

I have been trained in different psychotherapeutic modalities which inform my integrative/relational approach to counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and of the British Psychological Society and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, Registration number: PYL37243).

Qualifications:
BSc. (First Class) Hons, Psychology. S.Wales University

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
