About me

Thinking of having counselling/therapy, but unsure of whether it's for you?  I offer a free introductory session so that you can make an informed decision and get a sense of whether counselling feels right for you. The client counsellor relationship is important, this free first session will give both of us a feel for whether we can work together.

Life may seem like an uphill struggle that is not getting any easier. You may feel that you don't know who you are anymore, that your anxiety is spiraling and simple everyday decisions are harder to make. Going out of the house may overwhelm you and leaving you feeling panicky in turn leading to loneliness.

Therapy can help you make sense of what's going on, so that you feel more like you again. Someone impartial to talk to openly, someone that really listens to you, confidentially and without judgement can really help.

I offer you the space to talk and to be listened too within a calm, safe, empathetic, non judgemental environment enabling you to process what you are currently experiencing and help you in finding a way to move forward.

Depression, anxiety, anger, loss, panic, isolation, trauma, PTSD, overwhelm, suicidal thoughts are all debilitating emotional feelings that you may be experiencing. You don't want to burden your family and friends with ‘your stuff’. This can be daunting, they may judge you impacting negatively on  relationships and complicating things further.

I am experienced in working with clients aged from 18 to 80+. My career path has been varied, working within local government, NHS, education and corporate sales. I have work-based experience in mentoring and coaching.

Your 'way of being' is important to me. There are no fixed number of sessions. I offer non-directive holistic therapy. I am also a qualified BLAST technique  practitioner. BLAST technique works with your subconscious and is an effective way of treating PTSD, trauma, phobias and anxieties.

Please contact me for further information if you are unsure of whether therapy is right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
