About me

I'm a warm and friendly counsellor who is focused on you. Whatever life looks like for you now,  I believe talking can help. During sessions with me, we would aim to build a relationship where you feel comfortable enough to explore everything you need to, at a pace that suits you.

If talking isn't quite enough I have a wealth of creative or practical based tools we can use to help you understand what's going on and empower you to find a solution. These can be really helpful for times when you might be feeling lost or 'stuck' or simply just not sure what to say. I'm always willing to adapt to my client's needs and will suggest things that might help, so you don't feel alone in those 'stuck' times.

What can I expect from a session?

Being a Gestalt counsellor means the relationship we build is really important, so ensuring you feel comfortable to be yourself, with no need to mask is one of my key aims. A room with me is totally free from judgement.

Warmth, empathy and understanding are the key parts of how I work, with a little humor thrown in when appropriate!  This means in sessions I hope to help you feel safe and supported, and that this one hour a week is your time to focus on you. This hopefully helps you get the most from your therapy.

I believe counselling is a shared space, and working with me I hope whatever journey you are on you know I'm in your corner.

I can offer short or long-term therapy both online or in person. If you would like to get in touch I offer a free 20 minute session or call to have a chat, so you can decide if I'm the right person for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
