About me

The garden room is a place where you can take a breather and relax; an opportunity to talk confidentially on a 1-1 basis about whatever is troubling you.

This is an environment where you can be yourself, feel safe and talk freely about your thoughts and feelings and how issues may be affecting you and impacting on your day to day life; To be listened to and be heard, without judgement.

Have you been suffering from any of the following symptoms: stress, anxiety, low mood, feeling unhappy and unsure what to do with these feelings and emotions.

Counselling can help you to understand yourself better and help bring positive change and enhance your wellbeing.

I am registered member of the BACP – MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists), I have professional indemnity insurance and I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

I work in Private Practice and all potential clients will be invited to an initial assessment, where together we will plan the best options for you. I provide counselling on a short or long term basis, this means you can choose to be allocated a set amount of sessions. This can be reviewed at any time to reflect your needs.

Coronavirus Information:

During this time of crisis, I am offering an opportunity for anxious public to have one-off/ or very short commitment sessions to offload at reduced fee.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
