About me

Thinking about accessing therapy yourself or for information to pass onto a family member is the first step to manage anxiety and your wellbeing.  Seeking help, outside your circle of family and friends, takes courage. I hope this information I have provided below will enable you to make an informed choice about what support would be useful for you.

I have experience of working with a wide range of difficulties that affect people personally. I focus initially on learning coping strategies for symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions/disorders. I then work collaboratively with you to help you achieve what you want to from therapy.

I am a qualified relational Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist (CTA) and Clinical Supervisor. I work in both private practice and within organisations.  My counselling practice is based in the Bournemouth area.

I offer individual and couple sessions as well as running workshops for specific groups on working with complex trauma and managing mental health issues. I work with organisations to offer supervision, trauma training and to help manage significant people change. I offer concessionary rates in certain circumstances.

If you are interested in meeting with me to discuss your counselling needs further please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Training, qualifications & experience

I specialise in working with complex trauma and hold a MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.  I trained at the Metanoia Institute which gives me Certified Transactional Analysis (CTA) status. I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor and hold a Diploma issued by the Iron Mill College.

My core philosophy and training is in Relational Transactional Analysis but I work in an integrative way with my clients and draw on a number of different theories and interventions to support our work together.  I take my lead from you in terms of what you find helpful and prefer to work together to find a way that supports growth and development specifically for you.

In addition to my private practice I work as a therapist and supervisor for a charitable organisation supporting those who have experienced trauma.

I am a fully accredited Psychotherapist registered with UKCP (UK Counselling & Psychotherapy), IARTA (International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis) and EATA (European Association of Transactional Analysis).  I adhere to the ethical frameworks of all my professional organisations and I hold full professional indemnity insurance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
