About me

About Me
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own time in counselling. Through that process, I came to recognise, understand, and accept the grief and trauma in my own life. It was a powerful, sometimes painful experience but it changed me in ways I never thought possible. Having a safe space to be heard without judgement was life-changing, and it inspired me to train as a therapist so I could offer that same opportunity to others. Fifteen years later, I remain passionate about supporting people to find greater self-understanding, acceptance, and freedom in their own lives.

Taking the First Step
I know how much courage it can take to begin counselling. Many people reach out when they feel lost, lonely, or isolated; when depression or anxiety has become overwhelming; or when something painful has happened that leaves them questioning themselves, their relationships, or even the world around them. It might feel as though the ground has shifted beneath you, or that the way you’ve always understood yourself no longer fits. Making that first contact is a brave and hopeful step and I want to acknowledge that. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

How I Work
I am a qualified practitioner specialising in Person-Centred Counselling, with additional training in CBT and trauma-informed approaches. I work integratively, because therapy is never “one size fits all.”

I don’t see myself as the expert on your life, you are. My role is not to tell you what you should do, but to walk alongside you with empathy and understanding. Together, we can explore what feels important, at your pace, whether that’s grief, trauma, or lived experiences that continue to affect you and begin to recognise the self-limiting beliefs or conditioned behaviours that may be holding you back. Therapy can create space to look at things differently, to understand yourself with greater compassion, and to challenge the patterns that no longer serve you. In doing so, you can discover new ways of coping, relating, and begin to reconnect with your own strength and move towards a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

What You Can Expect
Counselling with me offers a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and supported. Therapy can be short-term or longer-term, sometimes it helps for a reason, sometimes for a season, and sometimes for a lifetime. However you choose to use it, my aim is always the same: to help you connect with the best version of yourself and move forward with greater clarity, acceptance, and hope.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

Stepping into therapy is a meaningful investment in yourself, your way of saying I matter and my wellbeing matters too. I understand that taking this step can feel big, and the last thing you need is complicated pricing or pressure to commit before you’re ready. Some therapists offer scaled fees or session bundles, but in my experience these can feel sales-focused or ask too much of clients upfront. That’s not how I choose to work. I want things to feel simple, transparent and respectful of both your time and your resources.
