About me
I am a qualified practitioner specialising in person centred counselling.
The theory of my practice is that I am not the expert on your life, as such I will not dictate to you, judge you, make assumptions about you or pry for details you may not be ready to share straight away. I believe that counselling is a truly collaborative process built on the trust experienced between counsellor and client. It is a very personal journey of self discovery and it is my aim to travel with you on that journey, to share the emotional distress you are experiencing and empower you to identify your own internal strength and wisdom that will let you understand, accept and move forward from your distress.
I can offer you a safe and confidential space where you can experience being truly heard, understood and unconditionally accepted. Together, we can address the issues that are troubling you and that can involve exploring as much or as little of your life as you feel comfortable with. I can help you to understand how your individual life experiences have contributed to who you are today, how you feel about yourself, the difficulties you may be facing, how they came to being, how they are impacting your life or behaviour and how you would like to make things different.
Our ultimate goal is for you to be able to move forward and make conscious decisions that bring about positive change in your life and allow you to feel more content in your world.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
All counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and fees are payable on the day by way of cash or cheque.
The initial session is charged at £25 which is half of the standard fee, I offer this because I believe that the first session should be your opportunity to experience me as a counsellor and for us to identify your needs and agree if we are able to work together on your counselling journey.
All subsequent sessions are charged at a fee of £50 per session.
I am willing to consider concessions which could be discussed on an individual basis.
