About me

Reflect and Rise is the counselling practice of qualified psychotherapist Sasha Jane Spicer (MBacp, MSc).

I specialise in Integrative Therapy.

This approach blends different counselling methods - such as Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy - rather than relying on a single technique.

Every person is unique, and therefore Integrative therapy draws on knowledge and experience from a range of approaches to find what works best for you.

We’ll explore your current challenges in a way that suits your individual needs. I aim to get to know you as a whole person so I can support you in the ways that matter most to you.

At the heart of Integrative counselling is a safe, supportive relationship where you feel heard, understood, and accepted.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a First Class Honours degree as well as a 4 year Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked within various high profile settings as the lead counsellor for the service: including NHS services, GP practices, Cheshire Police, EAP providers, MIND mental health charities, and as a College Counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer a range of counselling services.

I always like to conduct a free initial 15 minute session, as to assess the best direction to be taken.

I charge £50 per session and integrate different styles of therapy i.e. CBT where approproiate.

All sessions are unlimited and on your terms in terms of how many sessions you would like and how often. I like to give clients flexibility, to decide what is right for them and to help them feel in control of their own therapy.

Further information

A little about me:

I enjoy the things which reflect my practice and try to engage in mindfulness, reading, meditation, yoga and exercise (although low level exercise is all I can manage these days). I also have a keen passion for baking and cooking. Mostly, any time that I can get free is spent with family and friends. I am a keen traveller and like to immerse myself within different cultures and ways of life as much as possible.

I look forward to speaking to you soon and working through your challenges to help you find more contentment and reach your goals, whatever they may be.
