About me
My name is Alexandra, my clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and genuine. I believe that feeling comfortable with your therapist is an important part of the counselling process, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where you can feel accepted and valued.
How I Work
My practice is grounded in the person-centred approach, which places you at the heart of the therapeutic process. I trust that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to advise or direct, but to support you in exploring your experiences and finding your own understanding.
In our work together:
- You set the pace.
- You decide what feels important to explore.
- I offer empathy, acceptance, and honest reflection.
- We work collaboratively and without judgement.
- Your experiences, values, and choices are respected throughout.
I believe therapy is not about fixing what is wrong. Instead, it is about developing greater self-awareness, understanding patterns and experiences, and creating the conditions for meaningful change.
Sessions are warm, thoughtful, and reflective. My aim is to provide a steady, supportive presence that allows you to explore difficult feelings, gain insight, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
My Practice
Grounded Within is a warm and authentic counselling practice offering both online and face-to-face therapy. It is founded on the belief that life is a journey, one that can sometimes feel uncertain, overwhelming, or difficult to navigate.
The name Grounded Within reflects the values at the heart of my work: stability, authenticity, self-awareness, and hope. Inspired by the restorative qualities of nature, it evokes images of footpaths, forests, rolling hills, and sunrise moments, reminding us that even when the way forward is unclear, there is always the possibility of movement, growth, and new perspective.
Therapy offers an opportunity to step away from life's demands and create space for reflection. Whether you are facing anxiety, loss, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, counselling can provide the time and support needed to better understand your experiences and discover what matters most to you.
"Your life is a journey. You don't have to navigate every step alone."

Experience
Alongside my counselling training, I bring over 18 years of professional experience working within education and supporting children, young people, adults, and families from a wide range of backgrounds.
As both a parent and a carer, I also bring valuable lived experience, which has deepened my understanding of the challenges people can face, including stress, overwhelm, loss, responsibility, and change. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation of the resilience and personal growth that can emerge during difficult times.
Throughout my career, I have supported individuals through periods of transition, emotional difficulty, and personal development. This has provided me with a broad understanding of the complexities of human experience and the importance of feeling heard, understood, and supported.
Additional Training: I am committed to ongoing professional development and have completed training in:

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
