About me
I am an empathic, gentle and heart centred practitioner. I bring these qualities to my work as a psychotherapist and yoga teacher. As a trauma informed practitioner, I make great efforts to facilitate a place of safety, without judgement, where you can share your story and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. I strive towards a culturally responsive and racially conscious stance in my approach and consider this to involve my own ongoing personal work.
My approach is Integrative, meaning that I draw upon several different modalities in my work with clients, depending on their needs at any given time. I draw upon psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and Jungian approaches to meet each client where they are, whilst maintaining a holistic and transpersonal perspective.
I believe that everyone has within themselves the capacity to heal their wounds and become free from limiting beliefs. I understand that part of my role as a therapist is to help my clients access their own inner wisdom and guidance.
This exploration is facilitated via talk therapy, alongside creative modalities such as breathwork, bodywork, guided visualisation, guided meditation, dream exploration, genograms, archetypes, imagery and art.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapist at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in London. I hold a postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
