About me
Hello and welcome.
My name is Agnieszka Carruthers, and I am a BACP registered therapist specialising in Transactional Analysis. I offer online therapy sessions via Zoom, providing accessible and flexible support wherever you are.
Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when mental health struggles make daily life harder to navigate. Perhaps you are grieving the loss of a loved one and feel stuck, or you find yourself struggling with a sense of not belonging. You might also be navigating a diagnosis of ADHD or Autism and finding it difficult to understand or manage your emotions. Feelings of depression, anxiety or low self esteem may also be weighing you down, making it hard to see a way forward. If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out—let’s talk and explore how I can support you.
I have experience working with a range of issues, including:
- Stress, anxiety, and depression
- Trauma, grief, and loss
- Long-term illness
- ADHD, Autism, and childhood abuse
- Supporting carers in their unique challenges
My special interests include transgenerational trauma, cultural scripts, and neurodivergence, particularly in the context of late diagnosis.
My approach is rooted in Transactional Analysis. I believe a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful, lasting change. Together, we will explore the issues that led you to seek support. I will walk alongside you on this journey, offering insight, asking questions, and gently challenging unhelpful patterns when appropriate.
In addition to talking therapy, I incorporate creative methods such as metaphors, images, drawing, and raising awareness of how your body responds to emotions and stress. These tools can help deepen understanding and uncover new ways to heal and grow.
As your therapist, my priority is to help you develop a kinder, healthier relationship with yourself and those around you. By understanding how your past influences your present, we can work together to empower you to create a life filled with hope, connection, and fulfillment.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
