About me
I am a Cheltenham based individuals counsellor, offering short or long term general adult therapy to adults, and I specialise in working with young adults and those with ADHD and Autism. Starting counselling can be scary but when you choose to work with me, I can guarantee a safe, warm environment where humour is always welcome. You are in control of your sessions, and I am guided by what you feel is important to talk about, but gentle challenges and offerings of different perspectives will also be integrated by me, again, when I see it to be appropriate.
Together we can begin to unravel your thoughts and feelings, that may feel heavy and complex to begin with, at a pace that feels safe for you, whether you're experiencing depression, anxiety or a general feeling of unease. Each new session is an opportunity for you to explore anything that is on your mind. My role as your counsellor is to encourage self exploration and help you connect the dots, in an empathic, non- judgmental way. This way you can start to make sense of your inner world, which may be reflected in your outer world through the means of repetitive behaviour patterns, or a life that isn't quite the way you want it to be. These things can feel so out of our control. Each session will begin in an open ended manor, inviting you to explore whatever it is, that you may not feel able to share with other people in your own life.
I am a professional qualified therapeutic counsellor (FdA) and am a registered member of the BACP. I work using an integrative approach which means you lead the sessions. Whatever you bring we will explore together.
I have experience working with ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, gender identity exploration and low self asteem.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
