About me
I am a professionally qualified psychotherapist/counsellor/supervisor/couples counsellor and EMDR practitioner with over 20 years experience. I offer appointments in Havant and London and I run a couples clinic in Havant on a Saturday morning.
I am registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists) and I am a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist.
I offer a warm, pragmatic, open, honest and human approach to both individuals and couples and have extensive experience of working with a very wide range of issues. I work holistically to incorporate both the psychological as well as the somatic and spiritual aspects of being human.
I am also a registered EMDR practitioner and frequently combine this with cognitive based trauma therapy and sensorimotor psychotherapy for trauma (a gentle approach which recognises how traumatic memories, or fragments of memories, can get stored and in body rather than in images and works to resolve this).
My practice is easily accessible from Hampshire and West Sussex and parking is free !

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
At the heart of all that I do, lies my relationship with the individuals and couples that I work with. Because it is so vital that the relationship with me is right for you, I will take time at the first appointment to assess your indiviudal needs, give you time to ask all the questions you may have and discuss the way ahead. Onward referral is suggested, if appropriate.
I am frequently asked how long therapy will take. I am afraid it all depends on the nature of the problems you come with and the outcome you desire. Some issues may be resolved quite quickly and others have their roots in the past and frequently require a much deeper exploration and understanding or need unearthing gently to avoid re-traumatisation. I will always be honest about my assessment of the situation so that you can decide on the right way ahead for you. Your safety and confidentiality are of paramount importance at all times.
