My work is about making life more meaningful and creative, whatever these may mean for you. I aim to support you to discover and connect with your unique way of being in the world and to inspire change through exploring difficulties as well as your deepest yearnings.
You may be feeling stuck in your present situation and are seeking a new life direction and/or have relationship problems, anxiety, disturbing body symptoms or traumatic experience. Central to my approach is an assumption that in every troubling experience is a hidden opportunity for growth. I work in a way that makes accessible the inherent potential, creativity and meaning in these disturbances, and that creates space for you to connect with your own resources.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist and have a Masters in Psychology ( I am a member of the British Psychological Society). I also trained in hypnotherapy.
I have over 20 years experience in the field of personal growth, psychotherapy and coaching both in private practice as well as working in mental health and community organizations. As a member psychotherapy training school I train and supervise students. Since 2009 I have been a clinical lead in a community mental health centre.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of clients dealing with issues from short term challenges to deep rooted issues requiring long term work. For 3 years I worked as a psychotherapist in a service for women presenting with postnatal depression.
My interest in experiences at the edge of everyday known worlds inspires me to work with people who find themselves in crisis situation. I also work with and groups with a particular focus on cross-cultural and diversity issues and conflicts in personal or professional relationships. This interest in the edge between known and unknown worlds also led me to supporting artists around their creative processes.
