About me

Hello, I offer a space where you can be deeply listened to and understood and where we can make sense of what you are experiencing.  I combine Gestalt, Integrative Psychotherapy and Mindfulness to pay attention to the present moment and understand where your thoughts and feelings come from.  I have worked in the NHS, in a small charity and in private practice and worked with a wide variety of people experiencing a wide range of difficulties: trauma, depression, sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, anger, anxiety and depression.
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist, UKCP and supervisor.

I have taught on the Foundation course in Mental Health at Worcester University and am currently teaching on the Foundation Course at The Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, bcpc and Karuna Training, a two year Contemplative Psychology Programme in Madrid, www.karunatraining.com.

I have a lot of experience of working with entangled relationships when we control other people as a way of trying to look after ourselves or feel controlled by the other and am happy to work with you as an individual or in couples counselling. I encourage you to become aware of habitual patterns that you have developed in relating to others; how you create your experience and thus how you can make changes. My job is to constantly work at understanding and appreciating how you think and feel from the inside out. Everything you think and feel has some meaning and intelligence: it is trying to tell you something.

My Experience
I have worked with a wide range of clients of all ages and experiences. In Oxford I worked with refugees who were traumatised, suffering severe dislocation and isolation. In my private practice I work with a lot of people trying to find an inner confidence in who they are and to be able to bring this into their relationships: this includes how to manage their emotions including fear/anger/anxiety.

I also work as an organisational consultant and mediator.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 15 years experience, and am registered with UKCP and have an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy from Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, bcpc, and Middlesex University.  I first trained in Gestalt and am also influenced by mindfulness/awareness meditation which I have been practicing studying and now teaching for the past 20years.

I have worked as a counsellor in a university, young peoples advice centre , Cotswold Counselling Centre, with refugees in Oxford and had a private practice in London. I currently run my practice at home in Chalford Hill, near Stroud and in Cheltenham.
