About me
Hello, and welcome to my profile. As an experienced counsellor it is my job help you understand more about yourself and what’s happening in your life. My warmth, empathy and honesty, coupled with open questioning are the tools I use to help you move from perceiving yourself as a victim of circumstance and move you toward having a greater sense of control or choice in your everyday life.
Whether your problem is a relationship issue, bereavement, depression, or more existential, counselling & psychotherapy can be of benefit. Research suggests that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in effective outcomes. Therefore, I offer a free initial assessment that enables you to meet me, without obligation, to see if I am the right counsellor or psychotherapist for you.
I am an integrated, humanistic counsellor. I believe that everyone has internal resources to get through the most challenging of situations. It is my job, to help you discover those internal resources that will enable you to make the right choice for you. Everyone is an individual, and while some problems are shared, your experience of your life is unique to you.
I opened my private practice in 2006, and am now in my 18th year of private practice.
I obtained my Clinical Supervision qualification in 2010.
My consulting rooms are situated right in the heart of the picturesque town of Lewes. I offer day time and evening appointments.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Existential Issues - by this I mean that I am experienced in exploring the meaning that you attach to your life. In short this means issues to do with existence. Ever asked yourself "what's it all about?" That is an existential question, and I welcome the opportunity of exploring with you, what your life is about, and how you would like it to be.
Death anxiety - I have an interest in, and experience of working with issues around the fear of death.
